Abstract Christ Church Evangelical (Jamaica Plain, Boston, Mass.) was organized in 1901. The edifice was built in 1903 at 120 Chestnut Street in Jamaica Plain, Boston, Massachusetts. The church, which was a merger of the former German Reformed Church of Bay Village and German Reformed mission of Jamaica Plain, was listed as a Christ Reformed Church and Christ Evangelical & Reformed Church before merging with the United Church of Christ in 1967. Abstract The Smithfield German Evangelical Protestant church was founded in Pittsburgh in 1782. At that time Pittsburgh was only a hamlet on the frontier. Twenty five years earlier no village was there at all, only Fort Duquesne, a French military outpost. In 1782 the German church had organized and found a place to meet, a log cabin that it rented, but it had no minister. Abstract

The St. John’s German Evangelical Church was founded in 1835 by a group of German immigrants who had settled in Wheeling. In 1870, the church merged with another parish and the name changed to St. John’s German Evangelical Protestant Church. The records of the church appear to report church activity and the weekly sermons.
